Peer Review Process

Southeast Asia Journal of Comparative Education Research (SAJOCER) applies a double-blind peer review system to ensure the quality, validity, and relevance of submitted manuscripts. In this process, both the reviewers and authors remain anonymous to each other.

1. Initial Screening

Upon submission, each manuscript is first evaluated by the editorial team to ensure that it:

  • Fits within the journal's focus and scope

  • Meets the submission and formatting requirements

  • Is free from plagiarism or academic misconduct

Manuscripts that do not meet these criteria will be returned to the authors without external review.

2. Double-Blind Peer Review

Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The peer review process includes:

  • Evaluation of originality, methodological rigor, clarity of presentation, and contribution to the field

  • Recommendations for acceptance, revision (major or minor), or rejection

The review process typically takes 4 to 8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and response time.

3. Review Outcomes

There are four possible decisions:

  • Accept without revision

  • Accept with minor revisions

  • Revise and resubmit (major revisions)

  • Reject

Authors will receive constructive feedback from reviewers to help improve their manuscript. Revised submissions may be sent back to the same reviewers for re-evaluation, especially in the case of major revisions.

4. Editorial Decision

The final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief or assigned Section Editor, based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the overall quality of the manuscript. The editorial board reserves the right to reject any manuscript that does not meet the journal’s standards.

5. Confidentiality and Ethics

All parties involved in the peer review process must maintain strict confidentiality and uphold the highest ethical standards. Reviewers are required to disclose any potential conflicts of interest and must not use any information from the manuscript for personal or professional advantage.

SAJOCER is committed to a fair, transparent, and timely review process to support the dissemination of high-quality educational research.
