Author Guidelines

Southeast Asia Journal of Comparative Education Research (SAJOCER) welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, literature reviews, and case studies related to the field of education and learning. Authors are expected to follow the guidelines below when preparing manuscripts for submission.

1. Manuscript Submission

  • All submissions must be made through the journal's online submission system.

  • Manuscripts must not have been previously published or currently under consideration for publication elsewhere.

  • Articles must be written in English or Bahasa Indonesia. Authors using Bahasa Indonesia must ensure academic clarity and quality of language.

  • Each manuscript will be subject to double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers.

2. Manuscript Format

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

  • Font: Times New Roman, size 12

  • Line spacing: 1.5

  • Page size: A4, with 2.5 cm margins on all sides

  • Length: 4,000 – 8,000 words (excluding references)

3. Manuscript Structure

a. Title

  • Should be concise, informative, and reflect the content of the article.

  • Maximum 16 words.

  • Written in sentence case, bold, centered.

b. Author(s) and Affiliation

  • Include full name(s) without academic titles, institutional affiliation, city, and country.

  • Provide a valid email address for the corresponding author.

c. Abstract

  • Maximum 200 words.

  • Should include background, objectives, methods, results, and conclusion.

  • Written in English, even for manuscripts in Bahasa Indonesia.

d. Keywords

  • 3 to 5 keywords, separated by semicolons (;), arranged alphabetically.

e. Main Body of the Text

Suggested structure (may vary depending on article type):

  • Introduction

  • Literature Review (if applicable)

  • Methodology

  • Findings and Discussion

  • Conclusion and Suggestions

f. References

  • Use APA (American Psychological Association) 7th edition citation style.

  • Minimum 15 references, with at least 60% from the last 10 years and preferably from peer-reviewed journals.

4. Tables and Figures

  • Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively and referred to in the text.

  • Provide a brief, clear title for each table/figure.

  • Images and figures must be high resolution (minimum 300 dpi).

5. Plagiarism Policy

  • All manuscripts will be checked using plagiarism detection software.

  • The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%.

  • Manuscripts exceeding this limit will be returned or rejected.

6. Copyright and Licensing

  • All articles published in SAJOCER are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0).

  • Authors retain copyright and grant the journal the right of first publication.

7. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Currently, no submission or publication fees are charged to authors.
